The history of Moegi no Mura (Moegi Village), which began with the opening of the coffee shop ROCK in 1971 on the Kiyosato Plateau, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, at an altitude of approximately 1,200 m, has now grown over half a century to include a restaurant, hotel, beer brewery, cafe, carousel, music box museum, various craft shops and workshops. It is a tourist complex area.
The Natural Gardens MOEGI, in particular, is a garden that has been developed over a period of 10 years since 2012 on the entire 32,000 m2 site of the Moegi Village under the supervision of landscape designer Paul Smither.
The garden, which is completely pesticide-free and fertiliser-free, boasts an area so vast that it is unparalleled in Japan. The site, which varies in height and is adjacent to the forests of the Kiyosato Plateau, has a 'Water Garden' with a stream running through it, a 'Woodland Garden' surrounded by deciduous trees and a 'Gravel & Rose Garden' which is sunny and dry, Various flowerbeds have been created, including a 'Meadow Garden' planted with wildflowers from the Yatsugatake Mountains.
The plants in the garden are maintained through a natural cycle using compost from fallen leaves collected every year and the help of micro-organisms in the soil, and all living creatures live in harmony and balance each other in an environment that also takes care of the countless insects and wild birds that call the garden home. MOEGI is also a major feature of the Natural Gardens.ADDRESS 407-0301

The stage interwoven with Japan's top-class principals and cold gives an impression that can only be seen and felt here.
