As the world's oldest inn (opened in 705), the spring has never run dry since its inception, and in 2011 it was recognised by Guinness World Records as the inn with the world's oldest history.
It has four naturally gushing springs, with a quality of sodium calcium sulphate chloride spring (low tonicity alkaline high hot spring), and is a famous hot spring that has been recharged and gushes out for many years underground in the ‘Fossa Magna’ that crosses the Japanese archipelago.
The outdoor hot spring bath, Mangye-no-yu, is the face of the hotel and is made of well-cared-for Koyamaki wood, which has a pleasant fragrance and is highly water-resistant and durable, and has a unique fragrance.
It also won the 'Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award' in the local cuisine category of the 27th National Japanese Culinary Competition in March 2014, a festival of the beauty and technique of Japanese cuisine.
The chef, who was awarded the 'Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Award' in the local cuisine category of the 27th National Japanese Culinary Competition in March 2014, offers the blessings of the 'mountains and rivers' with the finest of Japanese cuisine.ADDRESS Nishiyama Onsen, Hayakawa-cho, Minamikoma-gun, Yamanashi 409-2702 PHONE 0556-48-2111 E-MAIL From the contact form.
