The shrine was originally located at the foot of a mountain called Kamiyama, but was moved to its current location in 865, when a major eruption of Mt Fuji occurred, with the aim of quelling the Mt Fuji eruption.
The shrine is said to be one of the oldest shrines in Yamanashi Prefecture, as it dates from the Kofun period, when the 11th Emperor Suinin ruled.
The deity is Konohana Kaiyahime no Mikoto, god of beauty and matchmaking.
In mythology, she had a strong belief in giving birth to children and "gave birth in the fire." The shrine is said to have strong blessings for easy childbirth and childbirth because of her tremendous career.
The fruit of the sacred plum tree, which is over 200 years old, is said to bring good luck in the birth of a child, and many people visit the shrine to receive the fruit.
There are also various stones with blessings for children, so it is said that if you visit the shrine together with the prayer hall, you are guaranteed to have a child.ADDRESS 1684 Ichinomiya, Ichinomiya-cho, Fuefuki-shi, 405-0056 PHONE 0553-47-0900 E-MAIL None. ACCESS By train
