Misogi Shrine (the outer shrine of Ise Shrine)

This is the only main shrine of the ancient Shinto religion to transmit the Japanese spiritual tradition of 'misogi'.
Misogi means to become clean and is a power spot where you can reset your body and mind.
As the word suggests, it is a place where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and buildings.
Misogi is usually associated with purification, but because misogi is defined in a narrow sense to mean the act of being hit by a waterfall or being covered with water in the sea or a river, and in a broader sense to 'cleanse' even the invisible mind and destiny, the kanji used for the word 'misogi' is an applied form of kanji to convey the word to various people.
A particularly famous feature of this Misogi Shrine is the 'Noh Hall', which is built so that it floats on water, giving it a very picturesque appearance.
In the days when there was no electricity, the water functioned as a lighting system to reflect light onto the Noh stage and as a sound system to reverberate and amplify sound on the surface of the water.
Here is a sight that cannot be seen in other shrines, and a visit to the Misogi Shrine may help you reset your mind when you want to get rid of daily fatigue and mental impurities.ADDRESS 3401 Kamisasao, Kobuchizawa-cho, Hokuto, Yamanashi 408-0041 PHONE 0551-36-3000 E-MAIL From the contact form.
