The scenic spot is said to have been the origin of the name ‘Kamanogo’ since ancient times, and when you go down the signboard of Meibaku Ichinokama, you will see Kamazawa Falls on your right, Medaki on your left and Meibaku Ichinokama, a male waterfall with a 21 m drop, just after crossing the suspension bridge.
The Otoko-taki Waterfall is a popular Instagram-worthy spot, as you can get right up close to it and the sheer force of the waterfall will overwhelm anyone.
It does not require much physical strength and the level of difficulty is not too difficult, but be aware that the footing along the canyon can be slippery in winter and when it rains.
The autumn foliage is at its best from mid to late October, when maple, beech, oak and sawtooth oak can be seen.
The Kai Kokushi (Kai Province Records) states: ‘The cliffs and rocks bend to form a flying waterfall. The water roars on the ground and trembles in the air, and a rainbow is always visible. The water volume has been decreasing in recent years due to power generation and irrigation.ADDRESS 172 Kamikamaguchi, Mitomi, Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan 404-0206 PHONE Yamanashi City Lifelong Learning Division, in charge of cultural assets
