The Dashiraku Pass is located on the border between Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and Kawakami Village, Minamisaku-gun, Nagano Prefecture, and is the highest motorway pass in Japan.
It is located on the main vein of the Okuchichibu mountain massif, and the area is designated as Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park.
As a base for climbing the main mountains of Okuchichibu, a 15-minute walk along a well-maintained trail leads to a group of huge granite formations and a place called 'Dream Garden' because the view from here is as beautiful as a dream.
In July, beautiful rhododendrons can be seen along the trail, making this a must-visit place for those who like to admire alpine plants.ADDRESS 4141 Kitahara, Makioka-cho, Yamanashi, Yamanashi 404-0007, Japan PHONE Yamanashi City Tourist Association 843 Obaranishi, Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture 405-8501
