Founded in 1962, the winery aims to ‘make Japanese wine from Japanese grapes’ and, in addition to Katsunuma, also has a winery in Komoro, Nagano Prefecture, boasting the largest production volume in Yamanashi Prefecture, with the majority of Mann's Wine products made at the Katsunuma Winery.
The winery produces many types of wine using various cultivation and brewing methods for the Koshu and Muscat Baily A grape varieties indigenous to Japan, which are registered with the International Wine and Grape Organisation, and there are two factory tours, one guided by staff and one free to visit.
A wide range of wines are stored here, and wine tasting (for a fee) allows visitors to taste many wines, including Koshu and Muscat Baily A, as well as the premium Japanese wine Solaris series. The Solaris Salon, located in the Solaris Room, a room dedicated to Solaris, offers tasting seminars by staff.ADDRESS 400, Katsunuma-machi, Koshu, Yamanashi 409-1306, Japan PHONE 0553-44-2285 E-MAIL None.
