Mars Yamanashi Winery (Honbo Brewery Co., Ltd.)

Mars Yamanashi Winery was established in 1960 as the Mars Yamanashi Winery as a production base for Western wines, while the Hombo Shuzo, a long-established brewery with a history of about 150 years in Kagoshima, was involved in a variety of alcoholic beverages including shochu.
Since ancient times, grapes used as raw materials for wine have been grown in various parts of the prefecture, mainly in the eastern part of the Koto region. By following the techniques and culture cultivated in these areas, and by setting up a winemaking facility in Hosaka-cho, Nirasaki City, and adopting a production method that minimises damage to the grapes and juice, we produce wines with a mellow aroma and deep flavour with little cloying taste.
