Shirayuri Brewery was founded in 1938 as the Shirayuri Brewery Cooperative under the name of ‘Shirayuri Brewery of Lorient Wine’, which means ‘Orient’ in French, so as not to be outdone by wines from the West, the home of wine.
In France, the home of wine, people say, ‘Good wine can only be made from grapes that are suited to the climate. Considering the ancient wine-making method of pressing grapes and brewing, the first requirement for winemaking is that the best grapes can be pressed in the region, and this is the same for any famous brand in the world.
